Triosim Announces Hiring of a Process Improvement Technician

Effective August 7th, 2023, Blake Cantrell has joined Triosim as a Process Improvement Technician. He will be reporting to Troy Miller. After some in depth training to learn more about Triosim and our product/service offerings, Blake will perform washer efficiency studies and pump bore scope studies in support of our sales efforts in the related product areas. Blake comes to us from Georgia Pacific where he held positions in production, process control, and management.

These washer efficiency studies (which include leaf testing) have proven to provide meaningful data to guide changes that result in significant measurable benefit for our customers. In addition, the bore scope studies used in conjunction with vacuum efficiency studies help our customers keep their vacuum pumps running efficiently. Driving process efficiency through support and product changes/upgrades is just another way that Triosim is committed to serving our customers. Blake’s contribution will be an important part of our overall support package and we look forward to having him on the team.

Triosim Announces Purchase Agreement for Somarakis, Inc.

This transaction includes all inventory and intellectual property (patents, trademarks, drawings, customer records, casting, fixtures, patterns, and all rights to the Somarakis, Inc name).

Somarakis opened in 1973 as a repair facility. In 1985 Somarakis began building new liquid ring vacuum pumps and to date has supplied thousands of new pumps to customers in 57 countries across the globe. Triosim is proud to continue that history by becoming the only authorized Somarakis pump repair provider. With the exclusive ownership in Somarakis intellectual property Triosim will continue to build new vacuum pumps and will manufacture new repair components for all models of Somarakis pumps. These repairs and new pumps will be available through Triosim’s existing pump facilities in:

• Montgomery, AL

Triosim Announces Hiring of a Business Development Manager-Pump Division

Effective February 20, 2023, Troy Miller will be joining Triosim as a Business Development Manager. Troy’s focus area will be in our pump division. He will assist in market share growth in vacuum, thick stock, and river pumps. Troy will work closely with Clay Barksdale, our Product Manager for pumps, as well as our marketing resources in order to increase market awareness of the advantages offered by Triosim in this area.

Troy holds a B.S. in General Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and served our country as a U.S. Navy Lieutenant – Surface Warfare Officer. Throughout his career, Troy has held positions in Product Management, Sales Management, and Executive Management with Nash, Voith, Ingersoll-Rand, and Ichikawa. This experience has allowed Troy to develop strong skills, both technically and with relationship building, at the local and corporate level. These skills will serve Troy well as we continue build capabilities and coverage in the pump division, all focused on providing the most regional and comprehensive support possible for our pulp and paper customers.

Triosim Announces Hiring of a West Coast Business Development Manager

Effective November 7, 2022, Ted Johnson will be joining Triosim as our West Coast Business Development Manager.  Ted holds a BS degree in process engineering from Washington State University and a master’s degree in economics from Cal State University.

Ted has over 25 years of experience in the paper industry having held positions as:

  • National Sales Manager at Altrom-Kamyr selling and supporting pulp digesters
  • Sales Manager at Voith – Tissue Cylinder Services
  • Director at Voith – Field Services
  • Director at Voith – Fabrics and Roll Products
  • Business Development Manager at Jaeger Inc for North and South America.

Ted’s west coast market knowledge and history providing field services and critical equipment will serve him well as we grow a strong west coast presence from the ground up.

Ted will spend the next 8 weeks learning Triosim’s culture and product/service offerings. Ultimately, Ted will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy for maximizing product and service sales on the west coast. He will have direct account responsibility for US mills and will also manage our efforts in Western Canada as a manager of and team member with Barry Kennewell.

Triosim Announces Hiring of Technical Sales Engineer

Effective September 5th, 2022 Drake Wilmore joined Triosim as a Technical Sales Engineer. He has joined as part of our Southwest Sales/Service team alongside Mark Bolin, Clay Voss, and Will Thomas.

Drake holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from the University of Louisiana Monroe. Drake has served in process engineering and in maintenance positions in both the GP-Crossett mill, and the Graphic Packaging-Texarkana mill, most recently holding the position of Lead Maintenance Coordinator. Drake’s intimate knowledge of the paper mill maintenance process will certainly assist us in serving our SW Team customers.

This is the 6th strategic acquisition Triosim has made in the past 4 years.

Montgomery Rubber and Gasket/Gunter Park Machine & Hydraulics was founded in 1973 and has a rich history of outstanding customer support in Alabama and the surrounding regions.

Montgomery Rubber and Gasket supplies a wide range of specialty aftermarket rubber gaskets, seals, hoses, belting, and products to the pulp and papermaking industry as well as to the industrial markets. They utilize state of the art CNC waterjet technology to ensure all products exceed OEM specification tolerances. These products are provided in the central Alabama region in accordance with our Ragco supplier agreement.

Gunter Park Machine and Hydraulics provides machining and product rebuild services including pumps (thick stock, river, MC), gearboxes, blowers, and cylinders.

General Scope of Responsibilities

Our Technical Sales Engineer position is a Field Sales career opportunity.

The position requires a unique combination of an entrepreneurial spirit, attention to detail, and a general knowledge of the pulp/papermaking process. In this position you will represent each of Triosim’s network of Companies, working with customers in your territory to provide products and solutions that fulfill customer needs.

An ability to communicate well with a diverse group of prospects, customers, and partners is instrumental for success. Recongnizing opportunities, taking the lead during the estimating and quoting process, acting as a facilitator during execution, and following up to ensure that customer needs met

As a field based position travel time is estimated at 85% and the successful candidate must be comfortable communicating remotely with Triosim’s product support specilists, manufacturing location, and corporate support.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Ability to quickly gain customer trust and build strong relationships
  • Self motivated with good time management skills
  • General computer skills – MS Office, Dynamics CRM
  • Mechanical Engineer Degree preferred; or commensurate industrial/mechanical services experience, industrial sales experience a bonus.

Sales Territory:

Primarily Northwest US (WA, OR, ID, Northern CA)

Compensation:

Base Salary + Commissions

Specific Responsibilities:

Include understanding and promoting our full product line of spare parts, engineered products/equipment, rebuilds and precision mechanical services at each of the mills in the assigned region. You will also work closely with the Sales Team Leader to formulate and implement a business plan to meet budget targets for your assigned region. Creating and distributing professional sales call reports, creating and maintaining Dynamics 365 CRM platform and reporting of key business metrics on a monthly basis. Maintain a safe work ethic at all times while traveling and in the customer’s mills.

More specifically:

  1. Safety training must be completed as required by each mill online or on-site prior to entering a customer’s facility. Including carrying and wearing all the required PPE equipment.
  2. Promote spare parts, roll services, high velocity spray cast covers, drum rebuilds, wire cloth, wire installations, mechanical and precision maintenance services within the assigned region.
  3. Identify opportunities for Triosim to supply solutions for customer issues.
  4. Obtain competitor insight for products and services.
  5. Maintain sales prospect lists and customer contact listings for customers within the assigned region (Dynamics 365 CRM platform).
  6. Develop strategies to maximize short term and long-term profit for your region, including yearly strategic planning report.
  7. Provide monthly business reports for your region.
  8. Build relationships with key decision makers, to promote current and future business; including engineers, planners, schedulers, maintenance & production managers, technical & engineering directors as well as mill managers.

Triosim management and service personnel recently attended the Deublin steam and condensate equipment training at Deublin’s state of the art facility in Waukegan, IL. This session resulted in expanded knowledge and customer reach through the training of additional service technicians and enhancing the knowledge of our veteran technicians.
